FAQ
I dont have a violin. How do I get one?
How do I set up a lesson?
You can schedule a lesson by filling out an interest form on the Book A Lesson page.
Do I need anything else besides a violin to get started?
In lessons I will provide all the method books and music needed. The only other things I recommend students get within the first month of playing are a music stand and a shoulder rest.
How do I pay for lessons?
You can purchase a lesson package on the plans & pricing page or request an invoice by email.
Do you offer shorter lessons?
I offer 30 minute lessons to students in the single digit age range. Both 30 minute and 1 hour lessons can work for students of this age.
Do you teach Suzuki method?
Somewhat. I love to use aspects of Suzuki's mother-tongue method for teaching young students and I use their sequence of repertoire because it is recognized across the globe. In addition to this repertoire, I include note reading from day one. As students progress, I incorporate Galamian & Berber scales, various method books, and alternative repertoire to keep students engaged!
Where are you located?
I teach out of my apartment in Chicago, near North Center. I choose not to post my address online, but I’m happy to tell you if you reach out to book a lesson!
Do you offer travel lessons?
Yes! I am happy to travel to students that fit within my schedule. I charge a $10-$20 add on fee per lesson for this service.
